Press Club to be shut to protest journalist’s murder

QUETTA: The general body of Panjgour Press Club (PPC) announced to shut down the Press Club from Monday for indefinite period in protest against the murder of local journalist Rehmatullah Abid.

The members of the general body of the PPC, including Abdul Waheed President PPC and Vice President Qadir Bakhsh Sanjarani condemned the killing of Rehmatullah Abid and announced three-day mourning and closure of the PPC for indefinite period against the killing of local journalist.

All the journalists from the district attended the meeting and decided to close Press Club until the journalists are assured protection and the murderers of Rehmatullah Abid are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, they paid tributes to Rehamatullah Abid and condoled with the family of Rehamatullah Abid. They said that the attack on Rehamatullah Abid is the attack on freedom of media, adding, that the govt had totally failed to protect the journalists in Balochistan.
