Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reiterated his party’s commitment to the principles of democracy, rule of law, freedom of expression, and public rights in the country.

Speaking at the iftar dinner hosted for journalists at the Karachi Press Club, Memon acknowledged the important role journalists played in restoring democracy in Pakistan.

He further said that the relationship between the PPP and journalists will always remain strong, and the party leadership, including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Cabinet members, and workers, are with the journalist community in their struggle.

Memon mentioned that the PPP established housing societies for journalists, keeping in view the housing problems they faced.

He added that the government would also provide plots for new members of the Karachi Press Club and increase the grant of the Karachi Press Club annually.
