PPF condemns targeted campaign against news channel in Serbia
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), in a letter to Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia has expressed concern over the targeted campaign against N1, regional news channel.
PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali has condemned the pressure and threats to the N1 news channel and urged the authorities to stop targeting journalists working in the line of duty.
According to the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), the N1 management in a letter has stated that the objective of government is to threaten the channel by labelling it as an anti-Serb TV.
The channel operating in Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina is an exclusive CNN news affiliate channel for the Western Balkans.
The N1 employees have been continuously labelled as traitors and foreign mercenaries and have received numerous threats of physical violence through social networking sites.
