Policewoman accuses colleagues of rape

ISLAMABAD: A policewoman from Malakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, on Tuesday accused her two colleagues of rape and demanded action against them. Saima Fazal, a police constable, told reporters at Rawalpindi-Islamabad Press Club’s camp office that head constables Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Iqbal, who worked with her at Malakwal DSP office, had raped her on May 22 but no action had been taken against them so far. She said she had requested Mandi Bahauddin DPO Dr Masud for help but the alleged rapists had yet to be arrested.

She accused DSP Muhammad Iqbal of pressuring her for a patch-up with the alleged outlaws. She said that the police had discarded her statement and lodged an FIR of the assault against her will to save the skin of ‘real’ criminals.

She appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the prime minister and the Punjab chief minister to ensure early dispensation of justice to her.
