PML (F) activists attack journalists
HYDERABAD- The activists of Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) on April 6, 2003 roughed up local journalists and employees of Hyderabad Press Club after an anti-war rally outside the Club.
The scuffle started when activist of PML(F) took out petrol from a motorbike of a photojournalist. The PML(F) activists on admonishing became rash and started using abusive language with the journalists.
Some of the activists also brought out sticks and started beating the newsmen without any provocation, as a result three journalist and employee Press Club were injured.
Police on the scene stopped them from further deteriorating the situation and took two activists of PML(F) into custody. This has created anger among the journalists community of Hyderabad. Hyderabad Union of Journalists condemned the illegal activity of PML(F) activists and demanded of Pir Pagara to look into the matter.
