Plea against PEMRA put off
LAHORE, April 15,2005: LHC Justice Syed Zahid Hussain on Thursday put off for May 28 the hearing of a petition filed by the FM-103 radio station questioning the restrictions put on it by the PEMRA from broadcasting BBC Urdu news bulletins.
The court extended the stay on the broadcast of BBC news bulletins till the next hearing. PEMRA says broadcasting BBC news bulletins is a violation of the contract reached between PEMRA and FM-103.
The court was informed that PEMRA would take up the representation of the petitioner on April 28, and deemed it appropriate to let them settle the matter.
