PFUJ directs journalist unions to complete membership process
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) on Monday directed all its affiliated Unions of Journalists (UJs) across the country to complete their process of new membership by October 30.
A news release issued said according to rule (2) of “Election by-laws” of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) – “All UJs must complete their processes of new membership (if any) or scrutiny (if require) by October 30, every year. No fresh membership will be allowed or acceptable after the said date.”
Likewise, as per rule (3) the UJs must send the initial list of their members to the PFUJ Secretary General by November 5, so that there will be no inclusion of any fresh name in the list. The list should also be put on display on the UJs Notice Board as well as to the Notice Board of the respective Press Clubs (if possible)”.
Similarly, in accordance with rule (4) “The UJs will collect the dues from their members and complete the process by October 30. The final voter’s list should be sent to the PFUJ Secretary General by November 15, who will sent the same to the Charmian Election Committee of the respective UJs by January 5.
