Pemra chairman goes on 15-day leave
ISLAMABAD: The beleaguered chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Chaudhry Rashid on Monday went on a 15-day leave, as a fact-finding committee was formed under Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr Nazir Saeed to look into alleged irregularities and charges detected during his (Rashid’s) brief stint.
A senior official at the Ministry confirmed to The News that the committee would submit its report within 10 days and in its light, a possible action would be taken against the Pemra head. The Secretary Ministry of Interior Minister, Shahid Khan, will look after the affairs of the authority.
