Pakistan Press Foundation

On April 15th, Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) expressed gratitude to the federal government for clearing outstanding dues owed to electronic media outlets. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar were specifically acknowledged for their role in resolving the issue.

PBA highlighted that the dues, accumulated since 2022 and amounting to roughly Rs. 3 billion, had significantly strained the industry’s finances. The cleared funds are expected to bring much-needed relief.

The PBA urged continued action, calling on the federal government to address outstanding dues from before 2022. Additionally, they appealed to the Punjab government to settle its separate outstanding payments to electronic media outlets.

The Sindh government received praise for its efforts in resolving the dues issue, with the PBA commending Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon.
