Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to unblock Net2Phone access from next year
ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to unblock access to Net2Phone website from January next year.
The decision was taken in a meeting held here on November 17, 2002 under the chairmanship of Major General Shahzada Alam Malik (Retd), Chairman PTA.
The Authority took this decision after thoroughly reviewing the issue and taking into consideration the viewpoints of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and ISPs.
Earlier, access to Net2Phone was blocked pursuant to frequent complaints of PTCL for the violation of its monopoly over basic telephony.
