No order of blocking ARY, PEMRA chief tells senate committee
ISLAMABAD—Chairman PEMRA Muhammad Saleem Baig (pictured), in response to the issue raised by ARY News regarding the blockage of its transmission, has said that the regulator has not given any order in this regard.
During the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting meeting at the Parliament House, he asked the ARY spokesperson to provide information on areas where transmission had been blocked and the names of cable operators so that the authority could take legal action against those responsible.
Senator Faisal Javed chaired the meeting, attended by Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, Senator Muhammad Tahir Bizinjo, Senator Irfan ul Haque Siddiqui, Marriyam Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chairman PEMRA Muhammad Saleem Baig, and other senior officers.
