The committee recommended that “in order to avoid any conflict of interests, the federal government should not nominate any secretary as Member to the Board of PTCL”. The Amendment was supported by the Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The committee observed that how a person could protect the interest of the government, when he/she taking salary and other remuneration from private company. The committee further recommended that the PTA Board should be consists of five members at least one member from each province.
