NICL scam: SC takes notice of Zafar Qureshi’s suspension
Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday took notice of the suspension of FIA Additional Director General Zafar Qureshi, assigned to probe National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam, and summoned Attorney General on Thursday.
Qureshi’s transfer to the Police Foundation was cancelled by the SC last week, bringing him back to his earlier job in the FIA. The SC had appreciated Qureshi for recovering billions of rupees during the NICL scam probe and ruled that Qureshi be reposted in the FIA. On Saturday the government, locking horns with the apex court again suspended Qureshi for what it said violation of conduct.
The SC has summoned attorney general and Zarafr Quershi on Thursday along with relevant record.
