Nadra introduces Fast Track Service

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has launched a fast track and innovative service lane to facilitate applicants willing to pay for the urgent service.

The service has been launched for those who want to avoid long queues at the National Swift Registration Centres (NSRC), after Nadra started issuing free Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) on regular basis. The service is based on the successful outcome of a pilot project in Lahore PHQ, which was launched on Nov 24, 2008. More than 600 people were registered in Lahore under this project in only two months while paying higher registration fees.

So far Nadra has activated Fast track services at 37 NSRCs of Multan, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad and Karachi, where more than 1,000 citizens have been registered in four days. Using this express service, applications for the computerised ID card will be submitted with a fee of Rs1,000. The ID card for overseas Pakistanis in Middle East would be charged at Rs3,000 and rest of the world Rs5,000. Home delivery of these cards will be made at charges of Rs100 for inland and Rs500 for abroad. Child registrations certificates under this scheme will cost Rs500.

The delivery period of the products will be the same as per regular procedure, however, application time will be shortened. Moreover this service will take traffic away from the regular lane, hence making it convenient even for those who go through the regular lane.
