Nadra and ‘queue’

I WENT to Nadra’s North Nazimabad’s office, Karachi, to renew my wife’s CNIC. There I noticed many foolish things.

The first thing I was a big banner of Fast Track Service (FTS) on which they have mentioned, in bold letters, ‘Na koi Line Na Intezar’ (No line, no wait), but under that banner at counter number three (FTSÂ’s counter) there was a long queue in which people were waiting for their turn to get the token slip.

And the funny thing was the queue for the normal token slip was much shorter than the FTS’s one. On ladies counter (counter number 1) they have pasted so many papers having instructions for visitors.

The most interesting one I found was a paper having a message for women visitors:

“Women do not need to stand in queue, sit on the chairs and wait for your turn”.

But many women were standing in the queue and the guard deputed on the duty was directing them to stand in a curvy queue and leave the passage for others to move out.

I don’t know when our citizens will bother to know and demand their civilian rights.
