Na to take up PEMRA bil on Monday (Aug 28)
Islamabad, August 26 2006: the National assembly will take up Pakistan electronic media regulatory authority (Amendment) bill 2005 on Monday as reported by parliamentary mediation committee.
The senate has already passed the bill that was placed before both the house last Monday. Federal minister for parliamentary affairs Dr Sher Afgan Niazi said that after tabling the bill, two clear days were required to pass the bill in either house. He said that the bill had been placed on agenda of the national assembly for next Monday and it would hopefully be passed the same day. The NA had passed the bill last year but the senate failed to consider it with in the stipulated time of 90 days. Hence it lapsed.
