NA body reviews ban on Geo Super

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the sub-committee of the NA’s Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting was held at the Parliament House on Tuesday for reviewing the issue of ban on Geo Super.
The meeting was chaired by Convener Ch Saeed Iqbal. Chaudhry Saeed made it clear that the Parliamentary Committee was playing the role of mediation in the row between Geo Super and Pemra and the impression that the body was a party in this issue was incorrect. He said that Geo Super was a popular Pakistani sports channel and people were not watching Geo Super telecasts and efforts were being made to restore Geo Super’s broadcast as soon as possible.
Chaudhry Saeed said the member of the committee MNA Farhat Khan in his letter proposed that a meeting of technical experts should be convened to review the technical issues of banning Geo Super. On this, the convener decided to get briefing from the technical teams of Geo Super and PTA Frequency Allocation Board on May 11.
