Mubashir Hassan Appointed as PIO and Director General of Press Information Department
Mubashir Hassan, a seasoned information officer, has been appointed Principal Information Officer (PIO) and Director General (Grade 21) of the Press Information Department (PID). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the appointment, effective March 21, which was made under the Civil Servants Act of 1973.
Hassan brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held various influential positions within the information sector. His professional journey includes roles as Managing Director at the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Head of the Film Sensor Board at Baitul Mal. Additionally, he distinguished himself as the Press Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy in Cairo.
He recently completed the National Security and War Course 2024 at the National Defense University Islamabad.
The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) welcomed Hassan’s appointment and expressed confidence that his tenure will address longstanding issues faced by the print media industry, such as the distribution of advertisements on merit, the timely payment of outstanding dues, and an increase in government advertising rates.
