MQM, CM ordered my kidnapping: Iqbal Kazmi
Karachi: Syed Iqbal Kazmi alleged on Saturday that his kidnapping was carried out on the directions of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain, and Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
Kazmi, who had filed a petition against the May 12 violence and the amended PEMRA Ordinance, was kidnapped by unknown people on Wednesday. He was released on Friday after being tortured and thoroughly interrogated. Addressing a press conference at the Sindh High Court (SHC), Kazmi claimed that his kidnappers had warned him to leave Karachi in five days, failing which, he should be ready to face dire consequences. He said, however, that he had no intentions of leaving the city and would continue to struggle for justice. Kazmi demanded that the MQM chief, the Sindh home advisor and the Sindh government arrest his kidnappers. ppi
