Moot on Urdu Journalism
KARACHI – A three-day national moot on Urdu journalism titled ‘Urdu Press-Problems and Prospects’ will commence in Karachi on May 24 (tomorrow).
The national conference organized by the Department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi will be held at the auditorium of KU’s Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre.
The conference will comprise of seven working sessions covering various contemporary issues concerning Urdu journalism including daily newspapers and periodicals in the national language.
The conference is expected to make specific recommendations regarding issues of the Urdu press, which will be forwarded to the relevant quarters. The conference will also discuss the impact of emerging electronic media and satellite technology on the Urdu print media.
