Missing persons’ kins protest in front of UN office

ISLAMABAD – The relatives of missing persons on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against the alleged illegal abduction of their near and dear ones here in front of the United Nations Office.

The protest was attended by a large number of people. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-government slogans.
The protest was organised by the Islamic Centre for Research and Defence of Human Rights Organisation.
The families of the missing persons strongly condemned what they termed illegal abduction and violation of fundamental rights of citizens of Pakistan. They also demanded immediate release of the Chief Coordinator of Defence of Human Rights Khalid Khawaja.

They condemned the victimisation of Khalid and termed it a worst kind of state terrorism in which an innocent person is entangled in a series of fake allegations.
They said that they would not accept fake charges against their near and dear ones. They also handed over a memorandum of UN official.
They vowed that peaceful protest would be continued in all major cities of the country in this connection.
