Media urged to launch awareness drive of tuberculosis
KARACHI – Interim Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmoney Aneeq Ahmed, while lamenting the presence of Tuberculosis in the country, on Saturday, urged the media owners to launch an awareness campaign of Tuberculosis (TB) to get rid of the disease from the country. Speaking in a program on Tuberculosis at a hotel here, the Minister said that the media had a significant role in creating awareness among the people. He said that the media owners should play their part in this regard. He said that people should be aware of the diseases, including TB. He said, ‘Good social behavior and attitudes are vital along with prayers.’ He said the country faced many challenges, and everything had been commercialized. The Minister said that the average age of the people worldwide was increasing due to providing the best facilities. He said that Pakistan could also be made a country where people could breathe in a neat and clean environment. Ahmed said the country needed comprehensive steps to provide a better environment for the people.
