Media in Balochistan

Sir: It has been observed that media is not playing its due role in Balochistan. Everyone says that the media is like a mirror, which shows both good and bad sides of a society. But the Pakistani media is doing injustice with Balochistan and its issues.

In broad daylight, the Baloch youth are being abducted and killed by the state security forces. Their dead bodies are thrown on the roadside and in jungles. Many Baloch leaders and students are missing since long. In Balochistan, many places where the military operation is going on such as Chamalang, Zamoran, Buladia, the homes of Baloch leaders, youth activists are being burnt and looted but the media, the only source that can highlight our issues in the world, is unfortunately not bringing the Balochistan issue in front of the world.

In addition, an organisation has decided to ban both the electronic and print media on February 1 in entire Balochistan. I would like to request the media to take action against the atrocities being committed mercilessly in our impoverished province and bring Balochistan’s real issues in front of the world.
