Man tortures 25-yr-old wife
KARACHI: In a domestic violence case, a man, identified as Rizwan, physically abused his wife, Quratulain, 25, on Sunday burned her body in several places with a heated electric iron.
After the incident, the Quratulain’s family contacted the Yousuf Plaza police station. The police took the tortured woman to JPMC for a medical examination.
A JPMC MLO said that Quratulain was obviously tortured. Except for both hands and her neck, Quratulain’s body showed signs of torture in six places. She has been admitted at the JPMC for treatment.
Yousuf Plaza SHO Khalid Nadeem Baig told Daily Times that as of Sunday night they had not yet received a medical report. As soon as they receive a medical report they will launch an FIR and an inquiry into the issue, he said.
Wedding guest shot during celebrations: Twenty-eight-year-old Shafiq was injured during gunfire at a wedding in Drig Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Shah Faisal police station late Sunday night. The police have lodged an FIR and begun investigations.
