Man kills daughter over failed marriages
Karachi: A woman was killed by her father over two failed marriages in the North Nazimabad police limits on Friday. Muqaddas, 25, was strangled to death by her father, Dilbar, in his residence in North Nazimabad Block-B Area, while she was sleeping.
After killing his daughter, the accused went to the police station and confessed. The police along with the accused reached the spot and shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem.
According to the police, the woman had tied the knot with her first husband, Ameer, 10 years back but their marriage fell apart within a passage of four years and she got a divorce. Following this she married her cousin, Rayaz, but few months back she escaped from her second husband’s house and began living with her first husband. When this arrangement also did not work out, she shifted to her parent’s place which agitated her father.
Muqaddas was a mother of six children. The father has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Ashok Kumar, 25, was killed when a reckless bus ran over him near Natha Khan Bridge in the Shahrae Faisal police limits, while he was going on his motorcycle. After the incident, area police arrested the bus driver and seized the vehicle.
