Local Taliban occupy girls’ school, college in Orakzai Agency
HANGU: The activists of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Orakzai chapter, have occupied buildings of a girls’ degree college and a government girls’ high school in two different areas of the agency.
Sources said the local Taliban forced their entry into the Girls’ Degree College, Ghalju, and the Government Girls’ High School Gar, Alikhel, and occupied the buildings, ordering the teaching and other staff to leave immediately. The buildings were in Taliban’s custody till the filing of this report. However, the political administration of the Orakzai Agency claimed the Taliban had vacated both the institutions after they held successful talks with them.
Meanwhile, a grand Jirga of 18 tribes of the Orakzai Agency will be held at the agency headquarters Dabori to take important decisions in the wake of the Taliban activities in the agency.
