LHC moved to restrain govt from handing over Osama’s body

LAHORE: A writ petition has been moved in the Lahore High Court, seeking directions for the federal government not to hand over the body of Osama Bin Laden to the US authorities.

Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey filed the petition on Monday and also challenged the US operation on the Pakistani territory. He said the operation was against the sovereignty of the country and violation of the international laws.

He further requested the court to direct the government to arrest the people and take action against those who had tipped off the US about Osamaís presence in Pakistan. The petitioner also asked the court to seek a report from the government on the US operation in Abbottabad.
