LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A Memon met senior officials of the Press Information Department, PTV and PBC here on Thursday to review the preparations for covering the upcoming elections.
The minister reiterated the main objective of the caretaker government, saying the government was duty bound to facilitate the Election Commission to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections. “We encounter multiple challenges today, including international terrorism, propaganda and fair elections.” He insisted that these challenges could be countered through positive initiatives and retaining high mark of neutrality in delivery of services.
He directed the officials to give fair coverage to all the parties, saying there was no opposition today. He further directed the officials to make all-out efforts to facilitate the media.
