Lady doctor alleges criminal assault
KARACHI, May 19 2006: A lady doctor was allegedly reaped by a man after being kidnapped from North Nazimabad on Wednesday. On May 18, the doctor with her husband came to the North Nazimabad police station to lodge an FIR (195/06) under sections 365/34 and under 16 Zina). Police said that according to the victim, Dr Saba Shaikh, wife of Dr Furrukh Shaikh, was returning home from work at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
When she reached near the KDA Chowrangi, North Nazimabad, and a car intercepted the rickshaw she was travelling in and kidnapped her. According to the statement given in the FIR, the victim was taken to the Sharifabad area where a man identified by Dr Saba as Zakir raped her and made a video of hers. Later, she was released by her captors, police said. On May 18 she reported the matte to the police and police arrested Zakir in a raid.
A medical examination was also carried out early May 18 morning at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, police said.
