KUJ hails ministers’ proposal
KARACHI – Karachi Union of Journalists, KUJ has welcomed what it says the proposal of the four provincial information ministers to link the government advertisements with the implementation of the wage award for journalists and newspaper workers in the newspaper industry, according, to a press release.
In a statement, KUJ president Mazhar Abbas and general secretary Fazil Jamili urged the federal government to implement the decision without any loss of time.
They said that this is for the first time that all the four provinces unanimously have given such a proposal. They lauded the courage shown by the concerned ministers and information advisors at the highest forum.
The KUJ demanded that the same should be made part of the Newspaper Employees Condition Services Act, 1973.
