KUJ flays sedition cases
KARACHI, FEBRUARY 3: Karachi Union of journalists has condemned the registration of sedition cases against three newspapers and the government’s “intimidatory” actions against Jang publications.
A resolution adopted at the KUJ’s executive committee meeting, held under the chairmanship of KUJ president Wirasat Hasnain at Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, demanded an end to the government’s actions, particularly restrictions on the supply of newsprint to daily Jang and unfreezing of the accounts of Jang publications.
The resolution also demanded an end to the contract system of employment in the news industry.
