SUKKUR: Kidnapped journalist Shahbaz Pathan and his friend Naveed Mangi returned home on March 26, afternoon after having been released by dacoits at the intervention of local influentials and the police pressure. They remained hostage for 22 days.

Sources said the hostages had been released without payment of any ransom. They told reporters they and four others were kidnapped on March 4, from in front of their houses. However, after proper identification, the dacoits released the four others. They added that during their captivity both were chained and the dacoits were enquiring about their assets.
