Journalists vent rage on Nato

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: The local journalists community staged a protest rally to condemn the Nato helicopters attack on Pakistani security checkpoint in Mohmand agency, killing 28 soldiers including two officers besides injuring 12 other seriously.

The rally was led by District Press Club President Nazir Bosal and Media Press Club President Sheikh Saleem.

The participants of rally were carrying placards and chanting slogans, asking government to pull out armed forces from the US war against terrorism, down with Nato and Pak Army Zindabad, retaliate aggression befittingly. They also raised slogans against the Nato and US and blocked traffic by burning tyres in front of the Press Club.

While addressing the rally, the speakers termed the Nato raid as blatant attack on Pakistani sovereignty and regrettable. They said that it was a deliberate attack to put pressure on Pakistan to “do more.”

The speakers also alleged that the rulers were following duel policies which had resulted in repetition of such tragic incidents, causing death of thousand people including the soldiers. They urged the rulers to learn lesson from the tragic episode and review policy in favour of public interest in general and stability of the country. Those who speak on the occasion were: Sheikh Saleem, Nazir Bosal, Shaukat Khan, Maj (r) Sher Gondal and Maj (r) Nasir Javed of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society.

Checkpoint attack widely condemned: Local political, religious and business circles have condemned the Nato attack on security checkpoint in Mohmand agency which resulted in the martyrdom of 26 soldiers and left 12 other wounded.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan District organizer Sajjad Randawa, TO Organizer Shahid Mahmood, PML-N leader Rai Mansub Ali Khan, Trader leader Sh Hakeem Riaz, Bar President Ch Haq Nawaz and District Press President Asif Ali Bhatti expressed their sorrow over the death of Pakistani Army personnel and condemned the Nato aggression in strongest words.

Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Sajjad Randawa while talking to journalists said that the rulers had already been sold teh national sovereignty and integrity in the hands of America to ensure their stay at the helm of affairs. The PPP government is already playing in the hands of America and its agents and hatching conspiracies against Paksitan army, its agencies including ISI, MI etc to sneak into the nuclear assets of the country.
