Journalists urged to work for national integration

LAKKIMARWAT, September 06 2006: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Salim Saif Ullah Khan has urged the media men to use their pen for national integration. The journalists can do this through their reports in right direction and positive approach to the various issues”, the minister said after administering oath to the office bearers of Lucky Union of journalists at maturing here the other day.

Earlier, President of Press Club Sakhi Ma@an, General Secretary Hayatullah Khattak and Finance’s Secretary Nadim Khattak spoke on the occasion and highlighted the problems being faced by local journalists of the district. Salim Saif Ullah announced a grant of Rs 50,000 for Press Club and told that present government was determined to address the problems of media persons so as to enable them to play their vital role in putting the country on the track of progress.

“Press Clubs across the country are being equipped with com­puters and Internet facility be­sides a project is also underway to provide computer related training to journalists of remote areas”, Saif Ullah informed and assured that federal government would provide funds for the con­struction of town hall in order to boost art and culture related activities in the area.

Meanwhile, addressing to a mammoth public gathering in village Wanda Aurangzeb federal minister Salim Saif Ullah Khan asked the people to elect honest representatives who can serve them in a better way. ”We do not believe in the politics of availing contracts of different government projects to mint money and loot he public resources for our own vested interests”, he told and said that our family introduced politics of peoples well being and we had been serving the people for the past several decades.

He announced that besides providing one hundred electricity poles and five transformers for electrification of villages in union council Samad, a tube well would be installed in Kara Nawerkhel for the purpose to overcome scarcity of potable drinking water.
