Journalists to boycott Punjab Assembly’s session
LAHORE: The journalist community of the city has decided to boycott the Punjab Assembly’s (PA) session, starting on November 7, in protest against “indifferent attitude” of the government towards problems regarding Journalists Colony.
A joint meeting of the print, electronic media and journalist bodies was held at Lahore Press Club (LPC) on Sunday under LPC President Arshad Ansari.
It unanimously decided to boycott upcoming Punjab Assembly session in protest against non-resolution of longstanding problems concerning Journalists Colony. It was also decided that journalists would cover assembly proceedings while wearing black armbands.
It was also decided that press gallery members would boycott assembly proceedings until their demands are met.
