‘Journalists should be objective while reporting’

PESHAWAR, August 23 2006: NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai (Retd) inaugurated a newly built Press Club building at Khar, Bajaur Agency on Tuesday (Aug 22). Talking to local journalists on this occasion, the governor said that the government was fully committed to the freedom of press and was striving to promote journalism in the country.

“Objective journalism is my desire and passion indeed is requisite for over all development of the society”, he added. Underlying the significance of free media he urged journalists to utilise facilities available to them at remote areas and serve the people with their pen. “It is your duty to create awareness among the people of your area and bring their problems and difficulties to the notice of the government,” he emphasised.

Bajaur Agency Union of Journalists President, Habibullah and Press Club President Hisban-ullah thanked the governor for providing a congenial atmosphere for promotion of press in the Agency.
