Journalists rally, three arrested
UBAURO: A protest rally on Tuesday was taken out against the imposition of emergency and curbs on the media. A number of journalists, political and religious leaders, traders and citizens participated in the rally.
The protesters, carrying banners and placards, marched from the local press club to Main Chowk where they staged a demonstration. They chanted slogans against the government and in favor of media freedom. Ubauro police registered a case against 14 protesting journalists and arrested three of them. Those arrested include Malik Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Iqbal and Bashir Ahmed Farooqui.
