Journalists protest target killing of Baloch colleague
LAHORE: The journalist community and civil society on Monday protested against the target killing of a journalist in Panjgur (Balochistan) and demanded immediate arrest of the murderers and security for media persons in the province.
The local journalists, under the flag of Lahore Press Club (LPC) and Punjab Union of Journalists, arranged the protest at Shimla Hill and chanted slogans against the terrorists. On the other hand, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in a statement issued on Monday has strongly condemned the target killing of the journalist and called for serious and concerted efforts not only to punish the culprits but also to ensure that working journalists could fulfil their duties in an environment of peace and security.
