Journalist passes away

GUJRANWALA- A senior-most journalist of the city, Mahmood Amjad Mir, the eldest brother of an Urdu daily’s correspondent, Ijaz Mir, passed away after a protracted illness on the night of December 5, 2002. He was 81.

Mahmood started his professional career from the Zamindar newspaper and remained the chief editor of Industrial Times, Inqilaab, Nawa-i-Sanat and served in scores of periodicals as well. He also served in Pakistan Railway and an engineering company of Gujranwala. His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered in Masjid-Al-Mukarram Model Town in which a large number of people from all walks of life participated.
