Journalist among 5 hurt in violent incidents
MUZAFFARGARH: A senior journalist belonging to a private channel was injured while
resisting a robbery on Thursday. According to police, two armed suspects stopped journalist
Amir Sheikh in Bagh-e-Iram Colony and stole cash and a motorcycle.
The suspects allegedly tortured Sheikh when he tried to resist them taking the bike. The victim
was later shifted to DHQ Hospital by rescue personnel for emergency treatment. According to
police, the entire area was cordoned off to hunt down the criminals and raids were under way.
A local journalist body protested the incident, while locals in the area expressed concerns over
“recurring street crimes” that put lives of ordinary people at risk. They added that there is no
compensation after the crimes.
In a separate incident, four people including a woman were injured during a scuffle over
property.
