Jamali to give away APNS Awards on February 19

KARACHI- Kazi Asad Abid, Secretary-General, All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS), has announced names of the winners of APNS awards for journalists and advertising agencies.

The Secretary General, APNS has announced that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, has very kindly consented to be the chief guest at the 16th APNS Awards ceremony scheduled for February 19, 2003, in Thatta.

The Prime Minister would give away awards to the following winners of APNS awards for year 1999-2000 adjudged by prominent experts of industry.

Public Service Campaign: Interflow Communications (Pvt) Ltd for advertisement captioned, ‘This is a Murder Weapon’.

The Panel of Judges for the l5th APNS Journalist Awards consisted of the following prominent writers and intellectuals:

1) Ms Ameena Saiyid, M.D, Oxford University Press; 2) Professor Ibad Rashidi, Chairman, Mass Communication Dept, Sindh University, 3) Javed Jabbar, prominent writer & intellectual; 4) Professor Miskeen Ali Hijazi, Former Chairman, Mass Communication Dept, Punjab University, 5) Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid; 6) Nooruddin Sarki, Advocate, prominent writer & intellectual; 7) Owais Aslam Ali, Chairman, PPI; and 8) Sirajut Haq, Advocate, prominent writer & intellectual.
