Intel unveils Pentium 4 processor
KARACHI- Intel launched a new computer processor chip at a local. The simultaneous worldwide launch of Pentium 4 revealed two processors with speeds of 1.4 and 1.5 GHZ, respectively.
The price of 1.4 GBZ processor would be 650 USD or 38,000 rupees while the 1.5 GHZ version would be available for 850 USD or 50,000 rupees.
Kamil F Hassan, Country Manager Intel, said they were updating the speeds of the processors with regular intervals of time and the next version would be faster than this one.
Showing his confidence for acceptance of this new product, he said, “A research has shown that Pakistani market has the highest level of new computer products acceptance in the region.”
“The Pentium 4 processor is designed to give users performance where they can appreciate it most,” said Hassan adding that “users will feel more comfortable in streaming content, playing interactive games, encoding video and MP3 files or creating Internet contents,” he claimed.
Demonstrating the capabilities of the new processor, he said the system bus capability had been enhanced from 130MB to 400MB.
Furthermore, dissemination of information over Internet was highly intensive in terms of graphics and the new Intel processor would benefit web users a lot as they will be able to download contents with a slightly better speed.
