Instrumental music concert mesmerises audience

ISLAMABAD: Instrumental Ecstasy – a six part series of concerts organised its fourth concert on classical music about the Indian subcontinent.

The concert featured instrumental music of the violin. Performance of famous violin virtuoso Ustad Raees Ahmad Khan (Pride of Performance) accompanied by Ustad Muhammad Ajmal on tabla mesmerised the audience. The event has been organised by the Institute for Preservation of Art and Culture (IPAC) and Kuch Khaas, Centre for Arts, Culture and Dialogue.

The concert series is an exciting journey for music lovers who wish to discover the melodic brilliance of the Indian subcontinent through classical instrumental music.

The classical music of the subcontinent is one of the oldest music traditions in the world. Its origins go back to the Vedic Period – roughly 1500 BC to 500 BC).

Violin is one of the oldest Western instruments to be adapted by the musicians of the subcontinent.

IPAC is a social enterprise for promoting and preserving the traditional genre of arts in Pakistan and provide a fixed platform for traditional musicians and performers of the country to display their talent.
