Information Minister takes notice of manhandling of journalist
ISLAMABAD- Information Minister Nisar Memon has taken a serious notice of mistreatment and manhandling of the Bureau Chief, Daily Ausaf, Murree, Aurangzeb Abbasi by police and directed the Provincial Information Department and Inspector General (IG) Police, Rawalpindi to submit a comprehensive report in this regard.
The minister said that the incident at police excess on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day is all the more regrettable and the government would do every thing to avoid their recurrence.
He reiterated that the government is keen to ensure freedom of the Press and to provide a healthy working environment to the journalists.
