Ineffective police radios

I PARKED my son’s vehicle outside my house on April 20 at about 10 in the morning. It was locked. When I came back after 15 minutes I found the car (LOY 5759) missing. The matter was reported to police Rescue 15.

They came immediately and all traffic barriers of Islamabad were alerted over wireless. Even anti-car lifting cell and special police came to my house and recorded the matter.

The truth is that the so-called wireless system maintained by the police is just an eyewash. After an hour my son visited one of the police barriers to inquire about his stolen car. The officer in charge of the barrier was unaware of the incident.

This car theft was not one example. At least three vehicles have been stolen within 15 days from the area where I live. The police visit the place, complete the formalities and forget it. They have no proper wireless system.

The SSP, Islamabad, is requested to make the police wireless system effective. I would also request top police officials to order local SHOs to apprehend the gang of car thieves.
