IHC rejects application against Pemra acting chairman
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) after a preliminary hearing on Friday rejected an application of Pemra senior most Director General Ashfak Jumani against Pemra acting Chairman Dr Abdul Jabbar.
Agha Tariq Mehmood and Muhammad Waqas Malik advocates, counsels of Jumani, stated before the court that Dr Jabbar has worked in grad-20 for less than a year and his appointment as Executive Member is also against the law. They argued that their client, Ashfak Jumani, is most suitable person for the post of Pemra chairman. However, the court after the preliminary hearing rejected the application. Meanwhile, the court also rejected a complaint of Ms Samina Farzeen against termination of her contract as Pemra general manager on deputation before completion of her contract.
