SUKKUR – Prime Minster Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Sunday that the Nawa-i-Waqt had rendered remarkable services for the success of Pakistan Movement and the strengthening of the Pakistan ideology.

The Prime Minister was talking to newsmen after performing the inauguration of the second phase of Al-Shifa Trust Eye hospital.

He clarified that he had not imposed a ban on the government advertisements to Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation, adding that he had no enmity or malice towards the Nawa-i-Waqt Group.

He said the Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation have contributed a lot to the country and the nation’s betterment.

Jamali said the government fully believed in the freedom of expression and was considering lifting the ban on advertisements to Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation.

He urged the media to play its positive role and avoid making negative impact on public by unnecessarily maligning and sabotaging the government policies.

Jamali said that besides Nawa-i-Waqt, one Urdu and another English newspaper had also played a vital role in Pakistan Movement.
