Huma Ali elected PFUJ president

LAHORE: Huma Ali was elected as President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in the election held at Lahore Press Club here Sunday. Huma secured 91 votes, while his opponent Pervaiz Shaukat bagged 77 votes.

Mazhar Abbas was reelected as Secretary General by securing 101 votes, against Tahir Qayyum who bagged 65 votes. Fauzia Shaid bagged 110 votes and was elected as Senior Vice President, while Shams-ul-Islam Naz as Vice President by securing 102 votes. Ibrahim Khan was reelected as Treasurer by securing 100 votes, while his opponent Sultan Siddique bagged 74 votes. Saleem Shahid and Hamid Nawaz were elected unopposed as Assistant Secretary General. Abdul Qadoos, Amir Mirza, Anjum Herald Gill, Ayub Jan Sarhandi, Fazil Jamili, Kamal Azfar, Khalid Chaudhry, Naseer Ahmad and C.R Shamsi were elected as members of Federal Executive Council (FEC).
