Higher tax on SMSs

CELLPHONE users are agitated because of unsolicited SMSs by service providers and others who want to promote their product/services.

On an average, six to seven unsolicited SMSs are sent daily.

I have no idea why the authorities concerned are not taking action to stop such violation of consumer rights.

To stop such messages, the government should impose tax on every SMS at the rate of 50 paisa per SMS.

This will not only reduce unsolicited messages but also save our generation who are being ruined by getting cheap SMS packages. Instead of studying, they spend most of their time in sending and receiving messages.
