Heavy police posse in front of Urdu daily office
KARACHI, JANUARY 29: At least 10 mobiles, with a good number of police personnel, remained in deployment for some time before the offices of an Urdu daily on Eleandor Road on Friday evening.
According to the editor of the newspaper, Ajmal Dehlvi, who is also an MQM senator the police force inquired about the newspaper from the neighbourhood people. He added that when the newspaper staff inquired from the police about their massive presence there, they said they were waiting for “some orders”.
Describing the presence of a heavy police posse there as an effort aimed at harassing him and the newspaper, the MQM senator said that the police force vacated the street after staying there for 15 to 20 minutes.
The area police, however, drew a blank over the matter.
